2025 4-star Georgia CB commit Tae Harris will continue to visit other schools
Tae Harris is from Cedartown (Ga.). He is in the middle of Bulldog Country where Nick Chubb grew up and the 2025 four-star cornerback committed to the in-state school in June. Harris is still committed to Georgia, but his recruitment is far from over.
“I am still pretty locked in with Georgia, but I want to take my visits and make sure I go to the best place for me,” Harris told On3. “Communication with Georgia has been off a little with it being bowl season, what is going on with the Transfer Portal, the coaching change and things like that, but they have still been in touch.
“Georgia is still home. It always has been. I am an in-state kid that knows a lot about Georgia and it being home is what keeps me committed. It just feels good when I am there.”
With Fran Brown leaving Athens to be the head coach at Syracuse, Kirby Smart has hired Donte Williams from USC to coach cornerbacks. Williams and Harris have talked a couple of times and the new coach has made a nice first impression.
“He seems like a cool guy. He told me to call him Donte, not Coach Williams and he just seems cool. I like how he is straightforward and he seems like a good teacher, so I want to meet him and spend some time with him.”
LSU and Tennessee among others have Harris’ attention
There are no dates for visits locked in yet for Harris, but he is planning to take in Junior Days at Georgia and LSU. The Tigers had Harris on campus for the Texas A&M game to close out the regular season and LSU has his interest.
“Coach Kerry Cooks and Coach Robert Steeples are doing a great job recruiting me. They need me and they want me in their secondary. I like how LSU is recruiting me, they are keeping my mom in the loop and I had a great time in Baton Rouge. I want to get back.”
Outside of games in Athens and Baton Rouge, Harris also took a trip to Knoxville to see Tennessee host Austin-Peay. The Vols are on his radar.
“Coach Willie Martinez is recruiting me hard. He likes my versatility and he is recruiting me to play safety. I like the school, how he recruits me and another visit to Tennessee is probably going to happen.”
Other schools Harris has an interest in are Auburn, Clemson, Colorado and Florida State. The No. 230 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings is committed to Georgia, but exploring his options.
