2025 shooting guard Bryn Martin breaks down top 10 programs

Top 2025 recruit Bryn Martin recently released her top 10 programs and is nearing a decision. On3 talked to the 6-foot shooting guard from Springboro (Ohio) High School about each program and the factors that will play a role in her landing spot.

“I want to go somewhere where I’ll be happy for four years,” Martin said. “I don’t want to transfer out. I want to go somewhere where seniority isn’t really a big part unless they’re better than me, then that makes sense. But if I’m a freshman and I’m better, I want to be able to play. I want a coach that’s positive and wants me to be the best I can possibly be.”

Bryn Martin says her top 10 programs include Louisville, Dayton, Ohio State, Kentucky, West Virginia, Miami, Clemson, Washington, Virginia Tech and Illinois. So far, she’s visited Washington, Louisville, Illinois and Ohio State. She’s planning more official visits for early August but noted that she doesn’t plan to visit all 10 schools.

Bryn Martin hopes to commit in late August before her high school season starts.

Louisville

“Their coaching staff – they’re obviously winners there. I really like how they all work hard. It’s a really great school, obviously, and it’s around two hours away from home, which is cool.”

Dayton

“Dayton is cool. It’s about 20 minutes from my house. They were my first-ever offer, so I thought it would be respectful of me to add them in there. They’re another great staff and I have a great relationship with them.”

Ohio State

“It’s pretty close – about two hours. It’s really close to my house, and I go to a lot of games over there. I really like their coaching staff and the players. They’re a really great program. They get players to the next level, which is really intriguing for me.”

Kentucky

“Obviously, Kenny Brooks is now there and it’s about two hours from my house again. Kentucky is a great school also and very basketball-driven, so that kind of prompted me to put them on my list. Their coaching staff is really nice.”

West Virginia

“I’ve had a long relationship with them. They were one of my first bigger offers and they’re a great staff. You can see what they’ve done over the years is pretty incredible, so it’ll be interesting what they do in the coming years.”

Miami

“It’s pretty cool. Miami is a big place outside of college. They have a lot of job opportunities and being down in Miami – it’s a really nice place. Being at Toledo, the old coach [Tricia Cullop], did a lot of amazing things there. Keeping my options open.”

Clemson

“The new coaching staff is amazing. I like the Chattanooga style of play. I saw how the old coaching staff played before. Obviously, Clemson is a really nice place and a really nice school.”

Washington

“They’re a little bit farther but the coaching staff is amazing. The girls were amazing when I visited there. They made me feel so welcome. I really liked how I felt there. I went on an unofficial last September for a football game and an official a few weeks ago.”

Virginia Tech

“The new coach [Megan Duffy], she’s pretty cool. She’s coming from Marquette and was successful there. Their staff is great – I’ve talked to their staff a lot. They want to win there and they think they can do it at Virginia Tech. It’s a great school also.”

Illinois

“That actually was my third offer. They’re awesome. They’ve believed in me this whole entire recruiting process which is great. They stuck with me. They’re great people, great coaching staff and they want to win, which is big for me. I want to go someplace where they want to win. They can make things happen there.”
