2026 OL Dylan Biehl talks growing relationship with the Hurricanes: “I’ve always been a Miami fan”
When Cumming (Ga.) Lambert offensive lineman Dylan Biehl was 9 years old, the 2026 prospect got his first glimpse at what the Miami Hurricanes were all about while watching ‘The U’ 30-for-30 ESPN series.
Those memories have stuck with Biehl, who now holds an offer from Miami and is extremely high on the program.
“My first introduction to Miami actually came from watching the 30-for-30, so I’ve always been a Miami fan,” Biehl said. “I’ve always been pretty knowledgeable about the history of The U and, to me, it’s always been an appealing place.
“This staff is building something there. You see in the 2025 class they already have five offensive linemen committed, and you can see the trenches are their priority right now. I can see they’re building The U back up and they’re getting the future Ed Reed, Vince Wilfork and Brett Romberg’s of the world.”
Since June 15, the Hurricanes staff has made the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder feel wanted and like a top priority. Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal has led the ‘Canes push for Biehl as his primary recruiter.
“They sent a full package full of letters on June 15 from all of their coaches,” Biehl said. “They always check in, and they’re always intentional with what they’re talking about and don’t just reach out for no reason. They reach out, sending me important stuff or welcoming me to campus or games.”
The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder has visited Coral Gables twice and is looking to get back on campus later this month as well as this fall for a game day visit.
“I have a pretty good sense of the facilities, and I love what I have seen, and it’s got everything you could possibly want,” Biehl said. “I’m really looking forward to seeing a game atmosphere at Hard Rock Stadium. Just seeing how the game vibe is there would be really cool. I’ve been to other places, but I want to see Miami and what the experience is like.”
Along with Miami, Biehl holds offers from programs such as Penn State, UCF, Stanford, Duke and Indiana. Academics and relationships are two of the most important factors, as Biehl explained, that will play a role in his recruitment.
“One of my biggest priorities is academics because I’m a high academic kid,” Biehl said. “For me, it’s a huge priority because football only goes for so long. Also connection with culture and with the coaches.”
CaneSports’ take
Biehl is no stranger to Coral Gables and is a prospect the Hurricanes identified early in the recruiting process and appear very high on. Getting him back on campus in the coming weeks will be extremely important for the Canes as they look to establish themselves as a frontrunner in Biehl’s recruitment.
