3-star DT D’Nas White impressed with Florida State official, closing in on decision
Florida State hosted nine official visitors this weekend, and one of the key remaining positions the Seminoles want to address with their 2024 class is defensive tackle.
Enter three-star DT D’Nas White of Concord, N.C.
White took what likely will be his final official visit to Florida State this weekend, and he plans to make his decision later this month. Before heading back home on Sunday, White shared some of his highlights of the visit, including watching an FSU practice on Friday and spending time with defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins.
“It was great. I loved it down here,” White said. “They showed love and overall a great weekend. I liked the practice. It was awesome being around him (Haggins) — great person, great coach.”
White also stated that he likes how he would be used in the Florida State defense after closely watching the Seminoles play all season. And he said he was really impressed by the aggressive, attacking nature of FSU’s defensive tackles when he watched them up close in practice.
Away from the field, White said one of his favorite events of the weekend was the cooking competition, where the recruits and FSU players are given ingredients to prepare their own meals.
“Probably the cooking competition, because I won it,” he said. “It was steak and chicken, Italian sausage.”
The North Carolina product also got to hang out with several current Florida State players, and he said he enjoyed hearing from them about the daily experience as an FSU player.
“Daniel [Lyons] was my player host,” White said. “Seeing how everything is (with the players) was great.”
White doesn’t have any plans set up to visit other schools but mentioned that FSU, Miami and Tennessee are the main schools in the picture for his recruitment.
“I’m committing on the 20th,” he said.
