4-star DL: ‘(The Gators) definitely moved up a lot’

It was back in the fall when Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County defensive lineman Kevin Wynn received an offer from Florida.

Now, the 2025 4-star prospect has seen everything with his own eyes after visiting campus on Thursday.

Wynn, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, is the No. 13 defensive lineman and No. 163 prospect overall.

“It was a great experience, man,” Wynn told Gators Online. “Since I haven’t been there, they took me on a tour around the campus. I went to the field, weight room, nutrition room, educational room where they do tutoring, the recovery and training room, and I also went to practice.”

When the Gators offered last year, Sean Spencer was tasked with coaching the defensive line. He was the one recruiting Wynn, while Kali James Jr. played a role as well.

However, with both coaches gone and Gerald Chatman now running the show, Wynn made sure he spent a significant amount of time around the staff.

“He was a great person and genuine guy,” Wynn said. “He’s very motivated on the field. When I watched them practice, he was very loud and wants you to be the best you can be.”

As expected, Billy Napier also made his presence felt throughout Thursday’s visit.

“He’s a great guy,” Wynn said. “We were just sitting there talking like he was my uncle. We were just sitting there chopping it up and everything.

“Everyone is friendly down there. It’s like a great vibe you get there.”

Another visit with the Gators is likely

While the trip is not finalized, Wynn says he’s scheduling an official visit to Florida.

That return trip will likely take place in late June, as Florida State and Georgia are schools with dates for earlier that month. Those schools boast the highest-odds in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

However, after Thursday’s experience in Alachua County, the Gators are not to be taken lightly.

“They definitely moved up,” Wynn said. “I don’t know exactly right now, but they definitely moved up a lot.”
