4-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson feels ‘amazing’ about Georgia after visit

Warner Robins (Ga.) four-star edge Isaiah Gibson was among the strong list of visitors in Athens on Saturday for Junior Day.

Gibson came away with a strong experience.

“It was an amazing experience, to be honest,” Gibson said. “I loved everything about the coaching staff and the facilities. What really stood out to me the most was the coaching staff… Georgia has always been high on my list ever since I got the offer.”

Gibson added an offer from Georgia back in the summer. The Bulldogs have been heavily involved in communicating with the No. 175 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings since the offer was extended.

Gibson has mostly communicated with Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott and outside linebacker coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe.

Gibson is high on both Scott and Uzo-Diribe as coaches.

“I’ve known coach Scott since the ninth grade when I first camped at UGA,” Gibson said. “I was still a young buck. Over time, I’ve always known that coach Scott was a good coach. I’ve gotten to know coach Diribe and it’s all just clicked.”

Georgia is checking a lot of boxes for Isaiah Gibson

Gibson feels that Georgia aligns on a few levels for what he wants in a program. The top priority is an opportunity to develop.

“I would mostly say the development,” Gibson said. “The development that they have is crazy. If you go to Georgia, you’re going to get developed by the coaches.”

Gibson also feels like a priority to the Bulldogs. The four-star was among a long list of top-ranked prospects on campus over the weekend.

Gibson feels that being invited to visit alongside the star-studded list of prospects on campus. To Gibson, that showcased how Georgia feels about him as a player.

“I feel amazing about them,” Gibson said. “They’ve made me a top priority to their program. Georgia is a top priority in my recruitment…That shows me how much Georgia actually has love for me. Georgia is a top recruiting school in the country. They’re going to try and get the best players and they’re going to try and get who fits well with their scheme.”

What’s next

Gibson expects to take an official visit to Georgia in the summer. He also expects to be back for an unofficial visit before that visit takes place.

Gibson doesn’t have a timeline in place for a decision but he is already looking at which schools are near the top of his board.

“I’m already starting to break down my recruitment day-by-day,” Gibson said. “I’ve got about a year because I’m graduating early. I have a year left. I’m starting to break things down. I want to go to a school that benefits me on and off the field and go to a place where I feel at home. I don’t have a top schools but all the schools that I talk to on a day-to-day basis, that’s where I think I’ll end up.”
