Ny Carr wraps up Miami official visit: Along with the 4 targets committed elsewhere on visit says he also wants to land Cam Ward, Jeremiah Smith
Top-60 Miami receiver commit Ny Carr was already plenty excited about becoming a Hurricane on signing day Wednesday, but after this weekend’s official visit, he can’t wait to put pen to paper.
He says off the weekend that “everybody had a good time” and listed his highlight as “when we went to coach (Mario) Cristobal’s house, everybody got to connect with each other. Everybody got a good vibe with each other, we were just chilling. It was a good vibe off the weekend.”
Carr also worked on the uncommitted high school prospects on hand – FSU DL commit Armondo Blount, Wisconsin CB commit Xavier Lucas, Ohio State RB commit Jordan Lyle and Florida LB commit Adarius Hayes. The feeling off the visit is Miami could land all four, with perhaps Hayes the most iffy.
And Carr also said he wants to see the Canes land portal QB Cam Ward and 5-star WR Jeremiah Smith.
“Of the folks there I want to commit I’d say the biggest targets are Cam and JJ,” Carr said. “Cam was one we are like `What are you waiting on? We are ready for him to commit.”
Carr says he spoke about “everything” with Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard.
“It was `stay focused, do everything right and everything will come,” Carr said.
Carr said the other commits on the visit made it all feel like a big family.
“We talked about what the future holds for us,” Carr said. “It was we are all locking in with each other.”
Carr’s excited about the talent level of this incoming class with signing day Wednesday.
“There isn’t a better feeling than connecting with (the other commits),” Carr said. “We just have to lock it in before we get here, build off that.”
Carr said he will arrive at Miami Jan. 12 and enroll early.
“We’ll build it brick by brick,” he said.
CaneSport’s Take
Miami’s coaching staff nailed Carr’s recruitment after he decommitted from Georgia in September, quickly capturing his attention and landing his commitment about a month later. Carr immediately shut down his recruitment, and nothing will keep him from signing with Miami Wednesday and enrolling in January short of the Hurricanes’ full coaching staff being fired.
