Miami-area receiver Jade Card set for return to Coral Gables for junior day visit: “I just wanted to get another look”
Miami (Fla.) Norland three-star receiver Jade Card hasn’t taken an unofficial visit to Miami since making a game-day trip to Hard Rock Stadium last fall, but the No. 432 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class is ready to change that this weekend.
Card, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound ATH who most programs have primarily recruited at receiver, will be back on Miami’s campus for the Hurricanes’ junior day Saturday. Card attended a Miami prospect camp last summer and began having contact with the Hurricanes’ coaching staff; he said he’s heard heavily from programs including Pittsburgh, UCF, Louisville and Georgia Tech the most over the past several months.
As it pertains to Miami, Card said he’s mostly talked to offensive analyst Pop Cooney and receivers coach Kevin Beard.
“I just wanted to get another look at the school, see how everything’s going and see if I can make it like home,” Card said. “I wanted to get out there and visit. I’m going to visit other schools, but I can make a quick little visit during the day and make a trip there.”
Card said Beard and Cooney have told him to keep up the good work after helping Norland reach the state championship game this past season and encouraging him to keep working hard. Miami is the only school Card currently has a visit scheduled with but plans to visit a number of programs this spring.
Card considered committing at the end of the month but said he’d prefer to hold off on committing, adding he believes he’ll know when the moment feels right.
CaneSport’s Take
Card joins a massive list of expected 2025 visitors for the Hurricanes’ junior day Jan. 27 including five-star linebacker Zayden Walker, five-star safety DJ Pickett, four-star quarterback Husan Longstreet and top-50 linebackers Noah Mikhail and Tarvos “TJ” Alford, each of whom Miami should have a legitimate chance to land in this year’s class. Miami is also expected to host its current three 2025 commits (four-star receiver Waden Charles, four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez and three-star quarterback Luke Nickel) for the junior day in what will likely be the Hurricanes’ largest recruiting event of the spring, although Miami tends to draw a considerable amount of prospects for its spring game. Head coach Mario Cristobal also held a pool party for recruits last year, but nothing close to the scale of a junior day.
