Auburn trending for elite 2025 4-star IOL Micah DeBose
Mobile (Ala.) Vigor four-star interior offensive lineman Micah DeBose announced on Friday that he has backed off his commitment to Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder was pledged to the Bulldogs since February, but is now back on the board with national eyes beginning to turn toward the 2025 cycle. There’s already a new frontrunner for the elite lineman, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
Following DeBose’s annoucement, Auburn recruiting insider Cole Pinkston became the first to log an RPM pick in favor of the in-state Tigers. On Saturday, On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons followed suit. Now, AU has a 93.7% edge to add another top recruit to its 2025 class.
DeBose made multiple trips to The Plains this season, including a pair of trips in November. “I’m committed to Georgia, but Auburn has about a 60-70% chance to flip me,” DeBose told Auburn Live last month.
The momentum was already there while DeBose was committed to UGA, but following his decommitment, all signs are pointing to the Tigers. DeBose is the No. 38 overall prospect, No. 1 IOL and No. 2 player in Alabama in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Auburn already loading up in 2025 cycle
Only Notre Dame and Oklahoma currently have more commitments in the 2025 cycle than Hugh Freeze and the Tigers. Of the eight prospects currently in AU’s class, six are four-stars.
Headlining that group is Thomasville (Ga.) Thomas County Central four-star safety Kendarius Reddick, the No. 71 recruit and No. 6 safety. Auburn added another major piece to the puzzle on Friday after a successful Early National Signing Day, as it flipped Saraland (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman.
Not only is Coleman a top-115 prospect and top-15 DL, but he plays at the same high school as another pair of flip targets for the Tigers. Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver and Alabama commit Ryan Williams reclassified to the 2024 cycle and is now the No. 12 overall recruit, while Texas quarterback commit K.J. Lacey is the No. 7 signal-caller in 2025.
Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class has signed 21 players and ranks No. 7 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The 2025 class also finds itself ranked No. 7 in the nation, though the addition of DeBose would provide a major jolt upwards.
Other top commits in the 2025 cycle for the Tigers include Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE Jakaleb Faulk, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star DL Jourdin Crawford and Opelika (Ala.) four-star DL Malik Autry.
