Auburn’s Ten Most Wanted

Auburn’s Ten Most Wanted

Welcome to the original Auburn Ten Most Wanted. Who are Auburn’s top recruiting targets?

These lists are extremely fluid. In recruiting, things can change on both sides in an instant. Auburn’s recruiting board will shift — and shift a lot — all the way up until National Signing Day in December.

We are now under a month away from the early signing period starting Dec. 20.

Finally … please remember, this is our list based on who we believe the Tigers covet the most and have the best shot with.

The Tigers currently have 18 commits and the No. 15 ranked class in the country.

Tier 1

– WR, Cam Coleman, Central Phenix City (Ala.): Coleman, a 5-star Texas A&M commit, is priority No. 1 regardless of position. He is also the recruit we feel Auburn has the best shot with as of today. He has been to campus several times lately. Coleman will be back for the Iron Bowl and a decision on whether to stick or flip to Auburn could be made soon. Florida State and Georgia are involved and should be noted. Coleman is difficult to predict.

— DL, LJ McCray, Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland: Whether or not we think Auburn can land McCray, a 5-star Florida commit, the Tigers are certainly not giving up. Factors such as Jeremy Garrett and immediate playing time will continue to help Auburn. McCray is also eyeing Florida State fairly heavily, too. Staying with Florida is a high possibility, too. This one is fluid.

— DL, Jeremiah Beaman, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker: Beaman, a 4-star Alabama commit, is right up there with McCray as a top defensive line target. Although he told Auburn Live he does not know about his weekend plans, his teammates will be back at Auburn. He very well may join them. Auburn is working hard and seems to have some confidence that it can flip Beaman.

— OL, Coen Echols, Katy (Tex.): Echols, a 4-star Texas A&M commit, is probably the top high school offensive lineman on the board. He is projected to play more than one position on the offensive line in college and the Tigers covet him. As of right now, he is committed to A&M, but a flip is not out of the question. While there are a couple of schools involved, Auburn has the best shot to flip him, we are told.

— OT, Favour Edwin, McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian: Edwin, a 3-star offensive tackle, belongs in tier 1. Auburn loves Edwin and believes his upside is extremely high. The Tigers are working on locking Edwin down as he is taking visits elsewhere. He is expected at the Iron Bowl this weekend and could be very close to a decision.

— TE, Michael Smith, Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day: According to our intel, Smith, a 4-star South Carolina commit, is the top target at tight end. While we have not seen him visit Auburn, that will probably happen this weekend. If all goes well, it is not out of the realm of possibility for the Tigers to make a huge move.

Tier 2

— JUCO OL, Seth Wilfred, Las Vegas (Nev.) Snow College: Wilfred is the newer name, but he needs to be in the top ten most wanted. Wilfred has flown up the list since being offered. He is starting to add more offers after being discovered, too. Auburn will try to get him on campus and lock him down before he gets really big.

— TE, Roger Saleapaga, Orem (Ut.): Auburn is dead set on landing a receiving tight end. Saleapaga, a 4-star tight end, seems like a long shot, but he is taking an official visit this weekend. Could he get swept up in an Iron Bowl atmosphere? Maybe. Oregon seems like the landing spot right now, but Auburn is not done here, and loves Saleapaga from what we understand.

Tier 3

— Saf., KJ Bolden, Buford (Ga.): Bolden, a 5-star Florida State commit, has been in almost every top ten update that we have given. He has risen as far as tier 1 and usually finds his way back down to tier 3. It just seems unlikely that Auburn can get him, but the Tigers, once again, are not relenting here. Bolden is expected back for the Iron Bowl.

— RB, David Eziomume, Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb: Eziomume, a 4-star Clemson running back commit, will not be an easy get for Auburn. He is very public about his loyalty to Clemson, yet he has been to two Auburn games and could pop up for the Iron Bowl–although there is no known plan for him to visit. Auburn loves him and will do what it can, but it does not seem likely it can flip him.
