Four-star 2026 prospect has good experience on Miami visit, although disappointed by loss to Georgia Tech
Vero Beach (Fla.) 2026 ATH Efrem White, the No. 35 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, had been waiting “all week” to take his first game day visit to Miami for the Hurricanes’ Saturday night game against Georgia Tech.
And while he felt Miami should have easily won and could have played more disciplined, his first game day experience at Hard Rock Stadium had plenty of positive takeaways for him.
“I felt like I was learning from the players as I was watching the game,” White said. “It was a good experience. I was waiting too long, all week, to get down (to Hard Rock), and now it’s finally happened. It was still a great experience. I want to come again.”
Saturday marked White’s first visit to Miami since he attended the Hurricanes’ end-of-summer recruiting barbecue in late July, although he’s still had contact with the Hurricanes’ coaching staff through approved channels. He currently holds more than a dozen offers including Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Miami and Florida State and was named to On3’s 2026 Football Prospect Watch List in mid-August.
He felt Miami could have played better but is still considering the Hurricanes as a potential landing spot, although he acknowledged it’s still early in his recruitment. The 6-foot-3, 150-pound prospect’s recruitment has picked up significant steam since the start of August and has been listed as a four-star recruit by each recruiting database to have ranked 2026 prospects.
CaneSport’s Take
Miami’s stunning loss seemed to resonate with White more than some other recruits, and he seemed particularly disappointed by the outcome, although it should be viewed as a positive he’s still eager to get back to campus. The result and performance of Saturday’s game seemed to matter a bit more to White, who told CaneSport after the game he felt Miami “could have been more disciplined, and if they all did their assignments they could have came out with a dub.”
He also said Miami should have been able to blow out Georgia Tech, and even with head coach Mario Cristobal’s decision to run the ball instead of taking a knee, the Canes still should have managed to avoid a fumble. And despite giving Georgia Tech the ball at its own 26-yard-line, the defense still should have been able to prevent the Yellowjackets from scoring a touchdown in three plays and less than 30 seconds. However, his enthusiasm about returning to campus tells us Miami is still well in the running and hasn’t dropped significantly on his radar.
