Fran McCaffery on the loss to Oklahoma

The combination of poor shooting and a struggling defensive effort proved to be too much for the Hawkeyes on Thanksgiving Day as Iowa fell 79-67 to Oklahoma at the Rady Children’s Invitational in San Diego.

Following the loss to the Sooners, Fran McCaffery met with the Iowa media via Zoom to discuss the struggles that Iowa faced shooting the basketball and the defensive issues for the Hawkeyes trying to slow down their straight line drives to the basketball. He also discusses the strong play of his four freshman, particularly Owen Freeman, who finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds, and his pride in the Hawkeyes getting on the glass to win the rebounding battle.
