Kentucky freshman Zvonimir Ivisic reveals reaction to being deemed eligible

Getting Kentucky freshman Zvonimir Ivisic eligible was a battle. Head coach John Calipari fought so hard to get him on the court, with everyone coming to fruition on Saturday afternoon against Georgia. It was a dazzling debut for Ivisic as he stole the show in a blowout win at Rupp Arena.

The news of Ivisic gaining eligibility came earlier in the day, with there being a quick turnaround before tip-off in Lexington. He revealed the emotions of finding out he could play, sharing a moment with Calipari in his office. Both of them cried — hopefully tears of joy — before they wound up jumping around in excitement.

“We cried,” Ivisic said during a postgame interview with SEC Network. “We both cried. And then we started jumping in his office.”
