‘Meeting Lane Kiffin was amazing’: Mississippi State linebacker commit AJ Rice recaps Ole Miss visit
Madison Academy (Ala.) linebacker AJ Rice was one of several notable prospects at Ole Miss over the weekend. The Mississippi State commit had a chance to see the Rebels practice inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and continued to build a bond with the Ole Miss staff as well.
“The visit was good,” Rice said. “Meeting Lane Kiffin was amazing.”
The 6-foot-1, 230 pound linebacker is the nation’s 760th-ranked recruit, per On3’s Industry Ranking. He is ranked as the No. 76 linebacker as well as the 31st rising senior in the state of Alabama. He committed to the Bulldogs last September, but several programs are trying to change Rice’s commitment status, including Ole Miss who offered in January.

AJ Rice is tight with Pete Golding and the defensive coordinator has his attention and more.
“My relationship with coach (Pete) Golding is growing and getting better,” Rice said. “The thing that attracts me to the program is that they win.”
He tells OMSpirit Indiana and Georgia Tech are the main two programs staying in communication. And the Rebels are joining the group now after this weekend’s visit. He says he will go visit Bloomington and Atlanta this spring as well.
As a junior, he made 60 tackles, nine tackles for loss and two sacks. He also forced three fumbles and recovered two as well. The Alabama prospect remains committed to Mississippi State and new head coach Jeff Lebby, but Ole Miss is in his ear and then some now.
