Rusty’s Ramblings: Transfer portal set to heat up for Bulldogs?
Leading off with an interesting note I wasn’t made aware of until late last night. It may not happen, but I am told there is still a chance that AJ Harris ends up back at Georgia. One source told me last night that the door is still open for him to return and that the possibility of it is something worth mentioning.
It would be reminiscent of the Amarius Mims situation a couple of years ago. Robert Beal is another guy who entered the portal but elected to return. Once you walk out the door and see another places, you kind of realize what you have in Athens. I am not saying that is any type of done deal, but that is something that we will at least monitor. If he does decide that he wants to return to UGA, sources tell me that he would be welcomed back.
*** I don’t expect it to be quiet for Georgia on the portal front over the next few days. Colbie Young, a wide receiver from Miami, is a player that I think Georgia could add soon. I was told he wanted a few more days to think about his decision, but all indications are that this is trending toward Georgia. That would be a big body at wideout with a 6-foot-5 frame. That could really help Georgia, especiall in the red zone.
I still feel really good on Trevor Etienne. It sounds like that one could Georgia’s way before the end of the week. I feel the same about Xzavier McLeod going public with his decision. All of these players are being recruited to play and play now, as you can imagine. Georgia does not bring players out of the portal to stand on the sideline.
