SoonerScoop podcast: OU back to being the hunted

Everyone enjoyed the week off, but it’s time for OU to get back to work. At 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12, Brent Venables and crew are the hunted once again.

The Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop returns to look ahead to the second half of the regular season, beginning with Central Florida on Saturday.

The five-man crew (Josh McCuistion, Carey Murdock, Bob Przybylo, Eddie Radosevich, George Stoia) give you 90 minutes of everything you’ve come to expect from the Scoop gang.

OU second half questions

*Not really OU, but a lot of fun for Sooner fans to see a week off the field and see teams like USC and Texas A&M struggle. That’s a real shame, no?

*At this point, would it almost be an upset if Dillon Gabriel isn’t in New York for the Heisman ceremony? Nobody is saying he should win it, at least not yet, but he’s well on his way to an invite.

*More Gabriel fun, Radosevich asks if Gabriel will be selected in the NFL Draft before former OU quarterback Spencer Rattler? Hmm.

*Transfers continue to make a huge imprint. This week we got to know a bit more about the Jacob Lacey story and how he’s relishing his second chance. Also, is Caleb Shaffer the answer at right guard?

*The No. 1 story of the week continues to be how will OU handle success? Not under the radar anymore, even nationally. Two weeks of talking about how great the Texas win was, now what?

*Is there a great team in college football this season?

Sooners recruiting momentum building

*McCuistion previews the decision from Michael Boganowski. Listed as a linebacker by On3, Boganowski is being recruited as a safety by the Sooners. He will announce Thursday afternoon, with it looking like an OU-KSU battle. A prediction is in for the Sooners.

*And just maybe, it’s time for Grant Brix. McCuistion recently put in his official prediction over the weekend for OU to land Brix.

All that and a whole lot more from the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.
