OTHER NOTEWORTHY STATS
– Quarterback Jalen Milroe has thrown for 2,267 yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions on 142-of-214 (66.4 percent) passing in 10 starts this season. Milroe ranks second in the SEC in yards per attempt (10.6) and passer rating (179.03). He is also second nationally in yards per attempt and third in passer rating. Milroe threw for three touchdowns in Saturday’s win over Chattanooga and didn’t have a rushing score, but he remains tied for the second-most rushing touchdowns in the SEC – and T-15th nationally – with 12 in 10 games.
– Wide receiver Jermaine Burton returned to the lineup after missing last week’s game at Kentucky due to illness and led Alabama’s offense with 105 yards and one touchdown on just three catches (35 yards per reception). Burton leads the Tide with 642 receiving yards and six touchdowns, the latter of which is tied for seventh in the SEC, while his 22.14 yards per catch average leads the conference and is currently the fifth-best rate in the nation.
– Senior running back Jase McClellan rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on six carries on Saturday, giving him 737 yards and six touchdowns on 151 attempts (4.88 ypc). McClellan ranks among the SEC’s top 10 in several statistical categories, including carries (5th), attempts per game (13.73, 6th), rushing yards (7th) and rushing yards per game (67.0, 9th).
– Defensive back Terrion Arnold recorded another pass breakup in Alabama’s Week 12 victory, giving him a team-high 10 on the season. Arnold is second in the SEC in both pass breakups and passes defended (13) and is tied for fifth in interceptions (3). His 13 passes defended are also tied for the sixth-most in the nation entering the regular-season finale.
– True freshman safety Caleb Downs registered seven tackles against the Mocs, bringing his season-long total to 90 tackles. That is the fourth-most in the SEC and 33 more than any other defender on Alabama’s roster (Jihaad Campbell, 63). Downs is also responsible for 55 solo tackles in his rookie season, which is the second-most solo stops in the conference.
– The Crimson Tide defense didn’t record a sack in its lopsided win over Chattanooga, marking the first game without a sack since the Week 2 loss to Texas. Alabama is fourth in the SEC with 32 sacks, and linebackers Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell are both tied for fourth place in the league with seven sacks entering the Iron Bowl. Braswell’s Senior Day was cut short due to a first-quarter targeting penalty, but he will be available to start this week.
– Fifth-year senior placekicker Will Reichard kicked nine extra points and a 50-yard field goal in the final home game of his career. He is now 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) on field goal tries this fall, which is the second-best percentage among SEC kickers averaging 1.0 attempt per game. It is also the 11th-best average in the country. Reichard is now up to 521 career points and needs just 10 more to pass Navy’s Keenan Reynolds as the NCAA’s all-time leader.
– James Burnip punted twice for 89 yards against UTC for an average of 44.5 yards per punt. The Ray Guy Award semifinalist’s year-long average is now 47.86 yards per punt, which ranks second among SEC punters and fifth-best among FBS punters with 3.6 punts per game.
– Alabama’s top kickoff returner this fall has been wide receiver Kendrick Law, who had a 33-yard return on Saturday. Law is averaging 25.57 yards per kickoff return, which leads the SEC among players with 1.2 returns per game. That average is also No. 12 nationally.
