Three & Out: Let them wonder why, new offers in December, and a bright talent is emerging at Millard South
Three & Out is Nebraska On3’s feature in which recruiting analyst Bryan Munson gives his weekly takes on topical issues concerning Nebraska football and recruiting.
In this week’s Three & Out, let everyone wonder how and why Nebraska can be trending for Dylan Raiola, there are a lot of new offers by Nebraska in December, and Amarion Jackson is making a big name for himself. Here is your Three & Out:

Dylan Raiola was one name I thought I was 99 percent sure we wouldn’t be saying in December. Boy, was I wrong? The Huskers appear to be in an excellent spot to bring the Nebraska legacy home to Lincoln for the spring semester.
What a wild, strange change of events.
Give credit where it’s due to Matt Rhule for his transparency and for leaving the door open for Dylan to reconnect with the Nebraska staff if something changes. And the change would have to be substantial to look again at Nebraska.
Consider that Raiola has been in the commitment boat with Georgia for over six months and has been a mini-recruiting coordinator machine for the Bulldogs. He has been trying to lure as much talent to Athens as possible to join him in the class.
Not to mention, in all of the direction changes with Raiola’s process that included four high schools and moving from Arizona to Buford, GA, to play his senior year and be closer to Athens. That took commitment.
There is a lot of speculation out there on why this has all happened and even more questions about how. I tend to look at this very differently. Something made Raiola uncomfortable enough with his current decision and where he would be for the next four to five years to come back to Nebraska.
This is a massive vote of confidence for Matt Rhule and this staff by Raiola that other recruits won’t miss. Rhule and Nebraska need this win. Close this process with Raiola’s name on the dotted line next week. Make the nation take notice, and let them ask their questions about why.
New offers in December
There has been so much going on recently that new offers this month have been missed. The Nebraska staff was out and about this month, and several new offers were made. Here is a list of the new high school offers over the month of December.
A special one coming up at Millard South
Omaha (Neb.) Millard South wide receiver Amarion Jackson had a breakout season. The sophomore put up some significant numbers this season: 57 receptions for 1,086 yards, the most in class A this year, and 12 touchdowns.
“I would say I had a good season myself,” Jackson said. “Looking back, there were many things I did good but there’s always room for improvement going forward into this offseason.”
Jackson had a great season, but he sees improvements that can be made. He would also like to develop into being a deep play threat as a receiver.
“I would like to eliminate some drop passes I had and become more of a deep threat next season. That comes from just getting out and catching more balls and more and more speed training.”
Jackson camped at Nebraska this summer and was in attendance for Nebraska’s game at NIU. Nebraska is the only school that has communicated with Jackson. The Nebraska staff has been by Millard South this month to see Jackson.
“I haven’t talked to any other schools besides Nebraska so far,” Jackson said. “Nebraska had some people stop by and visit, but not much was said about visiting this spring or summer.”
Jackson was a first-team all-state selection by the Omaha World-Herald this season. He set school records in receiving touchdowns (12), single-season receiving yards (1,086), career receptions (88), and career receiving touchdowns (18).
