LSU offers No. 1 EDGE Hezekiah Harris
On Thursday, LSU offered Anniston (Ala.) Jemison EDGE Hezekiah Harris, the top-ranked EDGE prospect in 2026. It was a big offer for the sophomore standout, who likes LSU’s history on the defensive side of the ball.
“It’s a big-time offer. They have a reputation for developing DEs/EDGE guys,” Harris told On3. “I like the winning tradition, playing in the SEC.”
LSU outside linebackers coach John Jancek extended the offer to the 6-5, 220-pound prospect. Jancek along with player personnel assistant Bobby Barham made a good first impression for the Tigers.
“They said that they had been keeping up with me and had watched my updated film and they love my skill set and the way I rush the passer,” Harris said. “He’s a great coach! He’s doing a good job developing those EDGE/DE guys.”
Alabama has hosted him twice this season, including for the LSU game. While Georgia hosts him this weekend and Tennessee hosts Harris next weekend. He knows what he’s looking for in a college.
“A good environment. To be properly developed. And opportunity to make it to the NFL.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Harris ranks as the No. 19 overall prospect, No. 1 EDGE in the nation and No. 2 prospect in Alabama. Alabama leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
